the first day

So I've finally decided to start a blog. It had been in my head for quite some time now.

Onto more pressing issues.. Whats this blog gonna be abt... well...its not gonna be about me. What its gonna be is abt the world around me. What im gonna do is pick a few of the things that happen around me and give my weird comments and views on it.

we'll start off with...

boredom

What exactly happens when you are bored? Nothing ever happens and thats the problem and whats the solution? you wouldnt know cuz ur too bored to figure it out. The thing is, to get out of boredom, someone else or something else should get you excited. There is nothing you can do. For eg. lets say you are in a class and you get bored. To accelerate this frustratingly slow segment of time, hope someone joins you in a game of tic tac toe or really hope the bell would ring. The point is nothing will ever happen unless some external 'force' puts you out of your misery.

Why do we get bored? its cuz we have nothing to do ( ofcourse) no doubt abt that :)

So the next time your bored just remember- you, by yourself, can do nothing.

:)

am i right? let me know

HI.

If you are really willing to think about it, boredom is not about having nothing to do. Boredom is about not having anything "challenging" to do. One may have something to do, and yet feel bored, because that "something" is mundane or simply normal. Normal is apparently boring.

Moreover, there is never a time when one does absolutely nothing. Even though we may not be physically active, our mind is alive and kicking at all times. Yes, daydreaming, scheming, imagination running wild etc., are the result of the so called state of "boredom". Bacause the mind is a massive processor, which cannot stay idle. Give it something challenging to chew on, and it will be happy. When we don't challenge it, it becomes self-employed. It flows, naturally.

This flow has great potential. Sometimes the so called "daydreams" offer sub-conscious solutions to a few problems. They can be used productively. It all depends on ones perception. I dont want to get scientific or philosophical about it in this blog. But I would seriously suggest that when you are bored, follow your mind. Watch it carefully. Observe the patterns, the schemes, the fragments of imagination that connect with your train of thoughts. You might just discover somethihg astounding.
