The Fourth one

Pessimism

The age old battle between pessimism and optimism will never end. All motivational speakers and well to do people will tell you that being positive is what made them. Pessimism is the evil that bogs them down.

But is it the case? Pessimism is what helps people through the day. When you are a pessimist you can accept the worst, you do not become too hopeful and you do not set your expectations too high. You set realistic goals as a result and do not get down as much as you do when you are optimistic.

Just pessimism is not the way forward. We need to pickup points from the good optimist. You need the ability to put up a pretend 'smile' and get up when you are down.

Final word is...The world is big enough for the optimist and pessimist. In my mind every individual is 70% pessimist and 30% optimist. Success is raising your optimism level. A 80-100% pessimist is suicide.

The third one

Frustration

So you keep doing stuff and nothing happens... what happens, you get frustrated.

Frustration comes in diffrent shapes and sizes. Sometimes you wont care and let it go, hoping the next day or the next time would be different yeilding better results than what you expected.
But eventually it will get you. Eventually you will have to give into the dark side.

The dark side is ofcourse when things go horribly wrong and when you are irritated to the core. Thats when you take drastic steps to rectify the situation. A very common example of giving into the dark side is when you take on the source of your frustration by targeting anybody but yourself.

The light side - yes there is one- is when you target yourself. It might not be the source but doing this might actually elevate your problem at the cost of ruining your ego and self esteem.

The best thing is to be like me.. dont do anything about it! ( and suffer the consequences of grey hair and suicidal tendencies :) )

So what will you do? Do you have an answer?
