A little detour again- love it or hate it :)

Questions for myself

What does it mean
when i dream
Why cant i live life
on the mountains
When will i try
When will i give in
to what I feel
When can i lead
When will I fall asleep
knowing the truth
Why cant i fall
into the light

Why dont i know it all
Why cant i see it all
Why am i blind
to what runs in my mind

What brings you here?

The Eight one

Desire

Desire propells us forward. desire can bring us down. There are many things that i have longed for and so few that i have gotten( atleast thats what i think) .

What hurts us the most is when we want something thats so out of our league. It maybe the best thing that may ever happen to you but you can never have it. You think you do everything right but the goal is so much at another level that you will have to change yourself to get it.

Thats where the trouble starts. The change you may have to go through may be just an extension of yourself ( the tiger within) or a completely new persona. This becomes the secondary goal to fulfil your desire.

The seventh one

Change

Of all things change is probably what really really bugs me. Maybe because it was hardly ever there. but most probably it is because of my constant evaluation of the future. Whenever a change happens its consequences are felt almost immediately but when a change is sensed the thought of the result of the change is worse than the change itself ( figure that out!!:)) This forecast of change results in anxiety, tension and all kinds of mental crap.

Gone are the laid back life style of the towns. In the city change happens evry second. For most people change is just a distraction or a detour. They can live through it without the kind of impact it does to me.

All changes, good or bad have taken its toll on me. It never was an "issue" a few months ago. but now im begging for the rate of change to slow down.

Since this is on a personal note, No comments!!

The Sixth One

Procrastination

This is the evil of all evils but it exists in all of us. Everyone at some point or the other has these bouts of laziness- when you will want to put off stuff for a later time. Its human nature, we all have it.

Look back and reflect on all those feats you had wanted to achieve but could not. Was it possible that they could have been accomplished if you had put in the effort? Maybe not because this doesnot apply to a competetive scenario where there is another person involved. But when you think about yourself- yes, im asking you to be selfish- the problem lies with Mr. Procrastination.
And yes, like the problem, the answer lies within us- actually it is usually too deep within us that it may require a life threatening/dire situation to bring out the tiger in us ( so cheesy i know!). It requires guts, blood and toil, faith and confidence AHEAD of the time of reckoning- not just moments away.

I wish i would not procrastinate. I wish I could pickup the answers buried within me. Someday I will. Untill then, there is always tommorow!

The Fifth one

Failure

Yes! There comes a day in everyone's life when they fail. But failure in theory is not about losing as any of your friends/wellwishers/family would tell you. They say its about learning from your mistakes , taking your first step towards success.

To tell you the truth, for the most of us, there's little of that. Failure is the time to crib. The time to feel hysterical. The time to voice against the establishment. When do you have time to learn from the mistakes when you've spent all the time venting your rage? When you come out of this phase, you end up being just the same person you've started off with.

So failure in practise is not about losing also. It is about having nothing to lose- you remain unchanged at the end of day.

And if you do learn from your mistakes, its great. But for the rest of us, its ok if you dont either.

The Fourth one

Pessimism

The age old battle between pessimism and optimism will never end. All motivational speakers and well to do people will tell you that being positive is what made them. Pessimism is the evil that bogs them down.

But is it the case? Pessimism is what helps people through the day. When you are a pessimist you can accept the worst, you do not become too hopeful and you do not set your expectations too high. You set realistic goals as a result and do not get down as much as you do when you are optimistic.

Just pessimism is not the way forward. We need to pickup points from the good optimist. You need the ability to put up a pretend 'smile' and get up when you are down.

Final word is...The world is big enough for the optimist and pessimist. In my mind every individual is 70% pessimist and 30% optimist. Success is raising your optimism level. A 80-100% pessimist is suicide.

The third one

Frustration

So you keep doing stuff and nothing happens... what happens, you get frustrated.

Frustration comes in diffrent shapes and sizes. Sometimes you wont care and let it go, hoping the next day or the next time would be different yeilding better results than what you expected.
But eventually it will get you. Eventually you will have to give into the dark side.

The dark side is ofcourse when things go horribly wrong and when you are irritated to the core. Thats when you take drastic steps to rectify the situation. A very common example of giving into the dark side is when you take on the source of your frustration by targeting anybody but yourself.

The light side - yes there is one- is when you target yourself. It might not be the source but doing this might actually elevate your problem at the cost of ruining your ego and self esteem.

The best thing is to be like me.. dont do anything about it! ( and suffer the consequences of grey hair and suicidal tendencies :) )

So what will you do? Do you have an answer?

The second one

Clarity

Clarity in thought is probably the most difficult thing to achieve. Your life may depend on the clarity of thought you possess as well as the clarity of thought of the people who influence you. By clarity i mean clear direction. By clarity i mean focussed thought.

Something done on the spur of the moment may or maynot be clear, but whatever planned certainly is- if done with a lot of thought ofcourse.

Now, clarity of thought is present among us in two forms, one within us and the other with the people around us. And believe me, it is when the people around you- those that influence you- dont have a clear idea of things, you are in deep sh!#! This is what concerns me for i fear it may break me.

But i shall fight on.

the first day

So I've finally decided to start a blog. It had been in my head for quite some time now.

Onto more pressing issues.. Whats this blog gonna be abt... well...its not gonna be about me. What its gonna be is abt the world around me. What im gonna do is pick a few of the things that happen around me and give my weird comments and views on it.

we'll start off with...

boredom

What exactly happens when you are bored? Nothing ever happens and thats the problem and whats the solution? you wouldnt know cuz ur too bored to figure it out. The thing is, to get out of boredom, someone else or something else should get you excited. There is nothing you can do. For eg. lets say you are in a class and you get bored. To accelerate this frustratingly slow segment of time, hope someone joins you in a game of tic tac toe or really hope the bell would ring. The point is nothing will ever happen unless some external 'force' puts you out of your misery.

Why do we get bored? its cuz we have nothing to do ( ofcourse) no doubt abt that :)

So the next time your bored just remember- you, by yourself, can do nothing.

:)
